Lucenta is an API and set of web-based demo tools for automated content moderation (profanity and toxicity detection) and PII (personally identifiable information) detection and redaction. The tools on this site are thin frontends over the same public API — anything they do, you can call directly.

API keys are self-serve: request one at /get-started with your email, and you're responsible for keeping the key confidential and for all activity made with it. I can revoke a key at any time, with or without notice, for suspected abuse, non-payment (where applicable), or violation of these terms.

Access to the dashboard is passwordless — a sign-in link is emailed to the address you provide, and clicking it is treated as proof you control that inbox. You're responsible for the accuracy of the email address you provide and for the security of that inbox, since anyone with access to it can access your dashboard.

You may not use Lucenta to: build a competing moderation index by bulk-extracting the terms and scores the API returns; attempt to circumvent rate limits through multiple keys or accounts; submit content to the API that is itself illegal to possess or transmit; or resell API access without prior written permission.

You're responsible for how you use the API's output in your own product — including the decision of what to do with content the API flags or doesn't flag. See the Disclaimer page for more on the limits of automated moderation.

The API is rate-limited (currently 30 requests per 60 seconds per key/IP combination) and offered on a best-effort basis. I don't currently offer a formal uptime SLA. Planned maintenance or breaking changes will, where reasonably possible, be communicated in advance to active API key holders.

The Lucenta name, logo, and website content are mine. Text you submit to the API for checking or redaction remains yours — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is and isn't retained.

Lucenta runs on Cloudflare (Workers, Workers AI, Vectorize, D1, and KV) and uses Resend to deliver sign-in emails. The website may display advertising served by Google AdSense and use Google Analytics to measure site traffic, once you've consented to non-essential cookies. Your use of the service is also subject to the availability and terms of these upstream providers.

Lucenta is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, any warranty that the moderation or redaction results are complete, accurate, or fit for a particular regulatory or compliance purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lucenta and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including content that was incorrectly flagged, incorrectly left unflagged, or personal data that was not detected during redaction.

You can stop using the service at any time. I may suspend or terminate your API access for violating these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, no warranty, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

I may update these terms as the service changes. Material changes will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Lucenta after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Lucenta that can't be resolved informally is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates, except where local consumer-protection law in your own country grants you rights that cannot be waived.
